Young amateur boxers will be recognised this evening (Friday) at a prestigious awards ceremony.

The Amir Khans and Rick Hattons of the future will congregate at Trojan Amateur Boxing Club, in Preston Mall Community Centre, Kenton, to celebrate their achievements over the past year.

Local councillors and dignitaries will be attending the event to see the eight to 16-year-olds pick up a variety of gongs for their sporting prowess.

A disco and buffet will take place after the 8.30pm ceremony and all members are welcome.

Entry costs £5 and for more information call 0208 204 1007.
