Kenton group leads way at New Year's Day parade
A Kenton drumming group was the main attraction on Harrow's float at London's annual New Year's Day parade.
The Dhol Drummers from the Swaminarayam Temple in Kenton, joined dancers and musicians on the procession from Parliament Square to Green Park.
The Yi Dao Lion Dance Troupe performed a lion dance with a Chinese dragon and the Harrow-based Merrydowners morris Group contributed traditional morris Dancing as part of the procession.
Mayor of Harrow Councillor John Nickolay said: "It was a wonderful spectacular occasion and just one of many activities we have organised for my
chosen charity.
"They are set to truly benefit from all the funds raised and the awareness this has generated for their inspiring cause."
The funds raised on the day will go to the Welldon Activity Group, along with the Alzheimer's Society and St Luke's Hospice.
