THE sound of samba came to Kenton Day Nursery this month when the children, parents and staff celebrated the Brazilian carnival.
Around 40 youngsters, from babies to nursery age, arrived in fancy dress to sample tropical fruits and juices and foreign cuisine and hear music from the South American country at the nursery in The Ridgeway, Kenton.

TWO Army Cadets based in Kingsbury have earned vocational qualifications in the form of a BTEC in Public Services.
Cadet Staff Sergeant Stevie Bates, 17, of Robin Grove, Kenton, and Cadet Sergeant Ryan Thorp, 17, of Liddell Gardens, Kensal Rise, are both members of the 215 Kingsbury Detachment (Royal Engineers) based at the TA Centre, Honeypot Lane, Kingsbury.

STUDENTS were among a group of volunteers to have scaled down the side of a hospital to raise money for charity.
The sponsored abseilers raised £6,000 for St Luke's Hospice, Kenton Grange, Kenton, after descending down a 100ft wall at Northwick Park Hospital, Watford Road, Harrow.

PARAMEDICS treated a woman in her 20s for a leg injury after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Streatfield Road, Harrow, on Tuesday (Feb 9) at just after 8.15am.

AN ABBA tribute act is performing at a fundraising night for St Joseph's Youth 88 FC, whose teams play at Kenton Recreation Ground, Alicia Avenue, Kenton, and Whitchurch Playing Fields, Wemborough Road, Stanmore.

A MOTORIST has been charged over the death of 84-year-old grandmother Dorothy Spires in Kenton last summer.
Mark Bar-Oz (CORR), 38, of Kenton Road, Kenton, will appear at Brent Magistrates' Court on February 16 charged with causing the death of Mrs Spires due to careless or inconsiderate driving.
Mrs Spires, of Cheltenham Gardens, Kenton, passed away on Tuesday August 18 at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, east London, from the multiple injures she sustained in the collision on Thursday August 13 at the junction of Kenton Lane and Gooseacre Lane.
